The Guesthouse and the Hosts
Fljótsdalsgrund is a family-run guesthouse in scenic surroundings in East Iceland. It was established in 2009, by two local farmers, Josef Valgarð (Valli) and Helga, who are also the hosts. They do their utmost to show you the hospitality Icelandic farmers are famous for.
Valli and his family lives on the other side of the valley, at a farm called Víðivellir fremri, where he raises sheep, horses and also hens. Helga and her husband’s farm is on the same side as the guesthouse, just one farm away.
Fljótsdalsgrund offers accommodation, breakfast and dinner (if ordered in advance), as well as offering a well equiped camping side with good facilities for caravans.
The guesthouse is open all year around, except for Christmas and the New Year (15 December to 10 January).
You are welcome at our guesthouse!
